Every time I see a new Paragon Hero I say “this is the best one yet”. I’m getting used to the team outdoing themselves at this point. Today the team has once again knocked it out of the park with their newest hero Serath. Take a look at the intro video below and let’s talk about her skills.
Give in to your dark side with Serath
Smite players might see more than a passing similarity between Serath and Hel. But while Hel is a medium range support/ damage dealer Serath is ready to dive in and deal some heavy damage. In addition to the uncommon affinity of Corruption and Order she is a Melee Carry with plenty of ways to clean up during fights and move around quickly. Let’s take a look at her abilities.
Chastise (RMB/R1) – She attacks an enemy dealing damage and applying a slow. This attack also cleaves other nearby enemies.
Heaven’s Fury (Q/Square) – Serath hovers in place and hits each target in an area with a ghostly slash. Each slash deals damage one target at a time, with a delay between each attack. She is immune to damage and crowd control during this ability.
Ascend (E/Circle) – Rise into the air and then rapidly dive back down, traveling and dealing damage to a targeted area.
Heresy (R/Triangle) – Abilities now apply a burn effect which creates a weakness aura around affected enemies. Enemies who are burning also take additional damage from her basic attacks.
From the look of it Serath will be a very complex champion. As a melee carry she will need a lot of positioning practice, and learning when to use her abilities to deal the most damage will be hard. But as always every Paragon hero is free so when she gets into the game on the 10th make sure to practice!!
