Heroes of the Storm adds Zul’jin

The long awaited day has finally arrived! A troll will finally be added to Heroes of the storm (besides the one Nazeebo is holding)! Today Blizzard announced Zul’jin and gave us a full preview of his talents and skins! Today we’re going to take a quick look at him and what he could mean for the game.

Zul'jin abilities

Zul’Jin Abilities

Grievous Throw– Zul’jin throws an axe forward, dealing 130 damage to the first 2 enemies hit and marking them for 8 seconds. Marked enemies take 50% bonus damage from Zul’jin’s next 3 Basic Attacks against them.
Twin Cleave– Throw 2 axes in a large, circular arc, dealing 116 damage and slowing affected enemies by 15% per axe for 2 seconds.
Regeneration– Zul’jin channels to regenerate 25% of his maximum Health over 4 seconds. Moving while channeling or taking damage will interrupt this effect.

Heroic Abilities

TAZ’DINGO!– For the next 4 seconds, Zul’jin is Unkillable, and cannot be reduced to less than 1 Health.
Guillotine– Zul’jin launches a massive axe into the air that drops on the targeted area, dealing 210 damage plus bonus damage the lower his Health is.
The interesting thing about this hero is that nearly every ability in his kit is like one from other games, specifically Dota 2 with some tweaks. Grievous throw is very similar to Fury Swipes except ranged. Twin Cleave is just Wild Axes from Dota 2’s Beast master, with an added slow. Regeneration is Master Yi’s Meditate. Taz’dingo is a self cast version of Dazzle’s Shallow Grave, and finally Guillotine is Necrophos’ Reaper scythe.
Now I’m not about to say the hero is a copy of any one of those, but throwing all those abilities onto one hero could result in one of the most overpowered assassins to hit HotS yet! We’ll have to see his scaling when he comes out. My gut says players will be banning him out every chance they get.
I would love to hear what you think, but given the Heroes of the Storm Balance issues in the past *cough* Zarya *cough* Ragnaros… I have a feeling this will be another nerf, buff, nerf cycle before the dust settles.
